When these houses were first occupied the
world was a very different place: Shakespeare was still penning his plays,
Galileo was called before the Spanish Inquisition, the eight-year-old Louis had
just been crowned King Louis XIII of France and the French Revolution would not
take place for another 200 years.
But some things don't change. The
unobstructed view of the River Vienne across the fields is still the same now as
it was then.
